Nigeria sacks 121, 731 civil servants

About 121,731, civil servants drawn from the ministries and parastatals have been forced into the labour market in a major federal government retrenchment exercise.
Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission FCSC, Mr. Ahmed Al'Gazali, made this disclosure while delivering a lecture at the 60th anniversary lecture of the University of Ibadan where he attributed the disengagement to efforts to reposition the service for better performance.
