Good news: Nigeria has made so much money from that oil boom that has continued unabated in the last six to seven years. Bad news: the money is only in a few pockets. Lack of reliable statistics will always hamper an argument of this nature, but I think somebody was quoted recently as saying 5 per cent of Nigerians control 85 per cent of the available resources. Now we can debate that back and forth, but with what I can see with my eyes, that figure cannot be far from the truth.
